Major US Deal Builds on NimbleCommerce Success in the UK, Canada, and Europe

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 29, 2012) - NimbleCommerce, an enterprise local marketing and e-commerce platform, today announced that it has signed a deal with Digital First Media to power daily deals services for MediaNews Group and Journal Register Company to reach 57 million Americans in 18 states with respected local brands including The Denver Post , Salt Lake Tribune , San Jose Mercury News , St. Paul Pioneer Press and the New Haven Register .

The initiative capitalizes on newspaper publishers' relationships with local consumers and advertisers, as well as consumers' reliance on newspapers to deliver the day's local, national, and international news. With this platform, Digital First Media newspapers expand their relationships with local retailers into new revenue streams for both the advertiser and the newspaper.

"Rather than focusing on new customer acquisition and flash sales, as many daily deal sites have, Digital First Media seeks to build a sustainable model that focuses on long-term benefits for all -- newspapers, local merchants, and consumers," said Arturo Duran, Chief Digital Officer for Digital First Media. "NimbleCommerce provides all the underpinnings and intelligence to help our newspaper properties derive long-term income from a model that incorporates deals as a major part of the mix yet takes into account customer-relationship management on a large scale."

NimbleCommerce goes beyond standalone daily deals to include services such as a secure e-commerce platform with group buying dynamics, powerful coupon redemption system for merchants, a merchandising and promotion system, syndication platform, mobile support, email campaign management, and robust analytics and reporting.

"Our philosophy is to tie local community, consumers, advertisers, merchants, and media publishers together so that everyone benefits over the long term," says Prashant Nedungadi, founder and CEO of NimbleCommerce. "The deal with MediaNews Group builds on the significant momentum that we've seen in Europe, Canada, and the UK, and underscores the attractiveness of our unique, sustainable philosophy for daily deals."
